NYSERDA Seeks Projects Advancing Cleaner Fuel Technologies
NYSERDA has launched a competitive funding opportunity to support projects that develop, pilot, and demonstrate cleaner fuel technologies and infrastructure across New York State. Funding is available for both product development and pilot demonstrations focused on large-scale alternative fuel resources and fuel production, storage, and distribution systems. The initiative aims to accelerate solutions that reduce emissions, provide backup power, and help decarbonize sectors that are difficult to electrify.

RRTH Innovation Center Opens Applications for Infrastructure Resilience Startups
The Risk & Resilience Tech Hub (RRTH) Innovation Center is accepting applications from startups and technology companies developing innovative solutions that strengthen infrastructure resilience. Selected companies will have access to approximately $2.2 million in technical, manufacturing, testing, engineering, and commercialization resources over the next three years to help advance their technologies toward market deployment. Applications are open through August 22, 2026, for companies developing materials, products, and technologies that improve the resilience of infrastructure, such as transportation, buildings and coastal.

Voltpost Feature in Coming to Washington D.C.
For ClimateTech alum Voltpost is bringing its innovative curbside EV charging technology to Washington, D.C., with plans to install up to 16 Level 2 chargers by retrofitting existing streetlights and utility poles. The expansion highlighted by WTOP News is supported by a grant from the D.C. Department of Energy and the Environment as the company continues to grow its charging network.

Takazuri Launches its Green Schools Initiative in Kenya
Current Venture For ClimateTech Cohort 6 company, Takazuri, has launched its Green Schools Initiative at the Kalobeyei Settlement in Kenya, showcasing how climate-resilient infrastructure can support education and community development. The project features Takazuri’s Climatile™ roofing system, which combines passive cooling, integrated solar power, and rainwater harvesting into a single solution made from recycled materials. By delivering clean energy, improving building comfort, and supporting sustainable resource management, the initiative demonstrates the real-world impact of climate innovation in underserved communities.

Avol Aerospace Raises $3.8 Million
Venture For ClimateTech alumni and drone startup Avol raised $3.8M to deliver organs and blood to hospitals. Avol Aerospace is a St. Louis-based startup (founded 2023) that builds autonomous electric aircraft designed to deliver medical supplies for organ procurement organizations. Its proprietary droneport network transports payloads up to about 10 lbs over long distances.
