Michael Luciani

My name is Michael and I am an impact-focused startup founder and, having just sold my company, am now doing some angel investing and advising.

A little about my (former) company – I founded The Tuesday Company after working on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign to solve problems I had seen with volunteer management and voter contact in the 2016 election. Over the last four years, we pioneered what became known as ‘relational organizing’ technology in the political ecosystem and worked with 40 out of e41 winning Democratic congressional races who won in Republican districts in 2018, Kamala Harris, and national non-profit organizations like the League of Conservation Voters and Protect Our Winters. We created two consumer-facing products with over 500k users. I raised over $4MM of investment from amazing impact-focused investors like Reid Hoffman, Chris Sacca, Dustin Moskovitz, and Eric Schmidt. With the election of Joe Biden, we recently sold to a strategic acquirer.

A little about me. I have been mentoring hard science climate tech start-ups via the Maryland Energy Innovation Accelerator with an operator’s perspective on finding product-market fit, scaling, strategy, balancing a social impact mission, and fundraising. For the last couple of years, I have been building a portfolio of angel investments in crypto, climate tech, deep tech, and social impact as well as working as a venture partner at NextGen Venture Partners and Social Impact Capital. I also work as an advisor to 6 early-stage, high-growth, impact-focused startups. I have been sober for the last 8 years, practice meditation, and teach yoga. Before starting The Tuesday Company I worked at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy under President Obama, focused on expanding access to evidence-based treatment for substance abuse.
