Scale For ClimateTech Companies Tour Upstate Manufacturing Facilities

Manufacturing Tours

The Scale For ClimateTech teams were on the road across New York State last week touring manufacturing and testing facilities in the Capital Region and in Rochester, NY. The teams started with visiting Arcadia Manufacturing Group’s facility, which offers waterjet and laser cutting, fabrication and assembly, welding, machining and design engineering. From there, teams ventured to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to explore the extensive design, testing, and industrial support services for startups. Finally the teams ended their week at Rochester Institute of Technology’s Golisano Institute for Sustainability where they participated in a seminar on designing for sustainability, toured testing facilities, the battery prototyping and testing labs, and more. The tours offer our startups the ability to get a better understanding of manufacturing processes from the production floor, explore resources available to them in New York, and meet with manufacturers who are ready to work with small companies. For some founders, it’s the first time they’ve set foot in a manufacturing facility.
