The Department of Energy Announces $15M Voucher Program to Accelerate Clean Energy Technology Adoption

The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Technology Transition (OTT) announced the reopening of five voucher opportunities to accelerate clean energy technology adoption with $15 million in available funding to support manufacturers. The program connects technology companies, jurisdictions, and manufacturers with third-party validation to advance their technologies, businesses, or energy projects to the next level.

Klaw Partners with Department of Transportation on New $21 Million Project in Whitney Point, NY 

Klaw Industries is working with the Department of Transportation in Whitney Point to build a new bridge, one and a half miles of new ADA compliant sidewalks, and install crosswalks at Whitney Point Middle School and the Broome County Fairgrounds. Klaw Industries, aScale For ClimateTech alumni, was contracted for its recycled glass product, called Pantheon, which can be put into concrete to increase its strength and lower carbon emissions. The project is expected to be finished in late 2026.

Voltpost Secures $100K Grant to Deploy Lamppost Chargers in Detroit and Across Michigan

Voltpost, the lamppost electric vehicle (EV) charging company, announced it has been awarded $100,000 from the Michigan Mobility Funding Platform (MMFP), administered by the State of Michigan’s Office of Future Mobility and Electrification (OFME). The funding from the MMFP will be used to deploy 10 Voltpost chargers on lampposts curbside and in parking lots across Michigan, including the Detroit Metropolitan area.

Torev Motors Closes $1M+ Oversubscribed Pre-Seed Round

Torev Motor, pioneer of the world’s first double-axial flux electric motor, announced it closed a $1,075,000 pre-seed round led by BetterWay. Other investors include Ecosphere Ventures, Climate Avengers, and Intbox Ventures, LLC. The funding will  go towards developing Torev Motor’s  next-generation electric motor.

Introducing Venture For ClimateTech’s Summer Intern: Sarah Woodams

Sarah Woodams

We wanted to wish a warm welcome to Sarah Woodams, a recent graduate from the University of Rochester, to the Venture For ClimateTech team. As our newest summer intern, Sarah brings a unique blend of expertise in environmental studies and studio art to the role, which she honed through her active engagement with various campus organizations such as the Campus Times and UR Photography. Her dedication to sustainability shines through her work experience with UR’s Sustainability Office, where she excelled as a marketing and writing assistant. This summer, Sarah will be helping out with operations, providing marketing support and learning how our accelerator works. Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Sarah finds solace in nature through hiking, capturing its beauty through landscape photography, and indulging in the art of baking.
