Apply To Pitch at the 2022 NREL Industry Growth Forum
Applications to pitch in person at the 2022 National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Industry Growth Forum (IGF) are closing December 6, 2021 at 11:59 PM (MST). Be one of the top 40 teams to compete in the pitch competition and attend the premier conference for entrepreneurs and investors in the climate tech space.
The application fee is $350 which includes one complimentary pass to attend the IGF 2022, even if you are not selected to present. The conference will be hosted in person on April 13-14, 2022 in Denver, CO.

The evening will have two parts: an open mic style Hardware Meetup where anyone can demo their hardware product or pitch their hardware startup, followed by a holiday party complete with open bar, food, and live six piece brass band.

Scale Microgrid Solutions Commits Up to $55 Million to Urban Energy to Develop Community Solar in NYC
Scale Microgrid Solutions announces the first closing of its new developer friendly finance products, making up to $55 million of capital available to Urban Energy Inc. to develop community solar in New York City and beyond.
Scale Microgrid Solutions (also known as“Scale”) is working with Urban Energy to continue and facilitate community solar projects and installations in New York City and surrounding areas.
“Scale has provided us with flexible development capital that will help us grow our pipeline. With its commitment to acquire projects, we can now confidently offer financed solutions to building owners in New York City,” said Russell Wilcox, Co-Founder and CEO of Urban Energy.

Conamix Secures $8.7 Million Contract With Intelligence Advance Research Projects Activity (IARPA)
This past month, Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) awarded Conamix, a battery materials company that participated in the predecessor program to Venture For ClimateTech, an $8.7 million contract as a part of IARPA’s Robust Energy Sources for Intelligence Logistics in Extreme Novel and Challenging Environments (RESILIENCE) program.
The project will develop high power batteries for the intelligence community through teaming up with Ionic Materials and EaglePitch to produce a long shelf life and high energy density cell.
WeRadiate Brings Home $250K from the 2021 Grow-NY Global Food and Agriculture Business Competition
We Radiate, developer of precision technology to improve soil health and composting, won $250,000 at the Grow-NY Global Food and Agriculture Business Competition.
The ceremony was held at the Oncenter in Syracuse, NY this past November 16th and 17th. A total of 330 startups from 32 countries applied and competed for a $1 million grand prize, two $500,000 prizes and four $250,000 prizes.
Judges centered their decisions around five criteria; Viability of commercialization and business model; team cohesion, completeness, and readiness within, and diversity and inclusion amongst the founders, employees, and advisors; customer value; agriculture and food Innovation; and regional job creation.

Pvilion Wins “Product of the Year” Award
Architecture MasterPrize has awarded Pvilion three awards for two different products this year.
Pvilion’s Heavy Duty Solar Canopy won both Product Design of the Year and “Best-of-Best” Outdoor Products, and its Quad Pole Solar Sail was named the Winner in Sustainable Products.
Winners are featured in Architecture MasterPrize’s Book of Architecture, promoted to its network of designers and clients, and given a trophy for each award.

Ault Global Holdings Invests $2.25M in Unique Electric Solutions
Ault Global Holdings (AGH) announced that it has invested in Unique Electric Solutions, or UES, a privately held developer of electric vehicle, or EV, propulsion systems for commercial trucks and school buses. The investment will enable UES to increase production and diversify into adjacent markets. Moreover, AGH’s subsidiary, TurnOnGreen will work with UES to provide commercial EV charging stations and fleet management software solutions to UES and its customers.

As Scale For ClimateTech prepares to announce Cohort 4, the program is expanding its team to continue accelerating cohort members’ manufacturing capabilities.
SecondMuse, the downstate program administrator of Scale For ClimateTech, is hiring a program manager to help with the execution and support of the climate tech companies navigating the commercialization manufacturing process.

Celebrating Cohort 1
Venture For ClimateTech has graduated its first cohort from its six-month program. The nine graduating companies were selected from 661 unique applicants spanning 64 countries. Since the launch of the programming, Cohort 1 has secured over $8.6 million in outside funding – $4 million in dilutive funding and $4.6 in non-dilutive funding – and, on average, have tripled each team’s size. Stay tuned for more information on recruitment for Cohort 2 starting early December 2021!
