Highland Park Technologies has developed a kit-of-parts approach to upgrading the envelope of existing buildings. Utilizing a hybrid automation approach, they have developed a product that can be installed in 60-80% less labor and time than traditional methods, at cost parity to simple re-cladding without insulation, while allowing for a far wider range of aesthetic possibilities. They do not seek to replace human labor, but rather utilize it more efficiently so that they can rapidly scale the volume of building envelope retrofits that are performed each year to have a substantial impact on national level energy usage for heating and cooling.
