Flow Labs is building the world’s first autonomous traffic management platform – a single platform which plugs into connected vehicles and connected infrastructure to manage vehicles and optimize flows for energy and mobility efficiency. The company was founded in April 2018 and since then it has deployed technology in the real world across 54 intersections in the US. Its been able to demonstrate reductions in travel times of up to 24%, reductions in vehicle emissions of up to 21% and reductions in fuel consumption of up to 9%. To put this into perspective, if Flow Labs was to deploy its technology across the US, it’d save US citizens up to $75bn in fuel costs, and remove 349m tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere each year – that’s the equivalent of planting a forest 1.5x the size of New York State – all with just one piece of software.
