Jenny serves as the Director of Venture For ClimateTech. She is a 2x founder, UCLA MBA, first-generation graduate, and immigrant. After graduating from UCLA with a BA in Economics and minor in Human Complex Systems, she spent the first part of her career in many different industries and many different roles at companies such as Disney, Mercer, Boeing, and Amazon. This was intentional, as she hoped that one day she would start her own company and would already have the experience of having seen how the pieces of a business fit together.
Jenny has since started 2 companies, her most recent startup in circular economy and sustainable fashion with an exit in 2019. This startup was where her climate journey started as she found so much purpose in being part of the climate fight.
Most recently, Jenny spent the last several years in venture capital. She comes from running 5 programs as Sr. Program Director of Techstars LA, Techstars Healthcare, and Techstars Space where she also co-wrote and piloted the first founder-facing workshop on ESG and sustainability. Jenny is active in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, teaches Social Entrepreneurship at UCLA, and has mentored hundreds of other startups on their pitch decks which has helped founders successfully raise hundreds of millions of dollars cumulatively.
Jenny is an Al Gore trained Climate Reality Leader, Terra.do Orca fellow, Airminers boot up alumni, and helped Climate Changemakers, a non-profit that gets political in the name of climate, get off the ground during their first 8 months.
When Jenny’s not working, she can be found traveling the world (70 countries so far!) or at a national park. She has enjoyed hikes by the water and hikes by the mountains, but now, these moments remind her of what we are all fighting to protect.
